about
The Life Room officially opened its doors in May 2016 by Scottish artist Paul Muzni. It was started with the aim of continuing the work he began at the Slade School of Art, London.
Working from life models, he considers the activity from a perceptual point of view and expands on ideas of colour, form and composition.
Life drawing and painting classes at the Life Room were designed by Paul with the intent to teach from a personal position as opposed to a generic one. He demonstrates how he draws and paints, believing in working to his strengths. Those participating in his classes are encouraged to develop their own style, drawing inspiration from the skills gained during the tutored sessions.
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
